Our Hope: No Parades, Picnics or Sales September 11, 2013 09:49

Let us pass on to future generations the details of this day. We are responsible for sharing our experience, the victim's stories, the examples of heroism and how this event united America.

Sept 11th does not have the same meaning for those 20yrs old and younger as it does to us. It may be viewed as a day on the calendar that "older people" think is important but that they don't "get". They see images in on tv just as we view images in books of the Great Depression or WWII. It is our job to educate and express the emotion of extreme loss we as a nation felt.

Let Sept 11th not become a day of parades, picnics, and store sales but a day of remembrance.

We are the custodians of history.
